Крупа — пищевой продукт, состоящий из цельных или дроблёных зёрен различных культур.
Крупа вырабатывается преимущественно из крупянных (просо, гречиха, рис, кукуруза), бобовых (горох, чечевица) и прочих зерновых (ячмень, овес, пшеница) культур. К крупе также относятся хлопья (овсяные, кукурузные), вспученные зёрна (рисовые, пшеничные) и другие.
Процесс выработки крупы заключается в удалении из зерна примесей, снятии твёрдых верхних оболочек и придании ядру соответствующих формы и вида.
Крупы — энергетически ценные, высококалорийные продукты питания (320-350 ккал в 100 г), богатые сложными углеводами, за счёт которых происходит полноценное питание всего организма.
